The inability to control room temperature due to sealed windows means relying heavily on an AC unit, even in winter. Limited dining options around the hotel can make finding meals at night a challenge, impacting overall convenience.

Super friendly and amicable staff always on hand. Magnificent location for our needs, not far from many attractions and fast food restaurants and downtown. For tea or coffee visit Soba Cafe Sarrasin nearby. Smooth check in and in general attentive service. Everything great. Excellent experience there.

Consider requesting a top floor room to minimize noise from above during your stay.

I stayed in the room that was never cleaned apart from changing towels and available with nice views.

the location was unbeatable and convenient, right by a large, the central shopping district and other areas around japan. we were greeted by amicable, accommodating staff. overall it was a nice size and stylish with nice views.

The room was spacious with a cool Japanese design and a great street view. Just a few minutes from the metro, but noise from racers was a bit annoying at night. I would definitely come back!

Tl. Dr, got charged for a room I almost was allowed to check into 4 min early, insane! Then the staff was practically absent when we asked for extra body wash. I almost thought of leaving a good review, but not a single complimentary gesture or room upgrade was offered -just unacceptable.

I stayed here for four nights and could've easily extended my visit! The spacious rooms were clean and equipped. Staff were genuinely lovely, embodying Japanese hospitality. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the convenience of nearby amenities. Highly recommend!

The hotel is beautiful and offers a serene ambiance with a lovely water feature in the lobby. My room was spacious, clean, and featured a comfortable bed on tatami mats. The staff were helpful, assisting with my luggage and providing excellent local recommendations.

The room felt cozy and was equipped with convenient lighting controls right by the bed. Large windows provided a nice city view, letting in vibrant Kyoto light while blocking out sound decently well. The staff's assistance was really good. They were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Just a strong match for a fleeting moment in Kyoto with excellent value for money. The spacious room had a great view of the street. Consider asking for a higher floor to reduce street noise.

The room had this awesome smart lighting that really set the mood, and the tatami mats. Plus, the staff were always so helpful, going out of their way to organize Takkubin services for us.
